Dermot’s career spans over 25 years in industry as a Chef in establishments such as The Savoy Hotel London, Sun City South Africa, Mount Juliet Kilkenny, Ballynahinch Castle Connemara to name just a few.
After 8 years as a manager at Westminster College London, Dermot now works as a lecturer at Dublin Institute of Technology.
Author of four books to date, his most recent ‘Ireland, A Culinary Journey in the North-East’ was shortlisted for Best in World at the 2013 Gourmand Cook Book Awards winning two categories – ‘Best Culinary Travel’ and ‘Best LocalProduce Cook Book’.
Dermot also runs a consulting company Foodeducators Ltd – a City & Guilds approved Culinary Academy.
His innovative professional development Food Tours venture ‘A Taste of Ireland’s Ancient East’ sees up to 22 different nationalities visit the Boyne Valley Region for a very unique food experience every year.
